All Good Things Must Come To An End
With the changing leaves and shorter days, we say good bye to summer and to our show season. It has been a wonderful year at Stonybrook. Congratulations to all of our winners. Both in the ring and at our "Stonybrook Auction". Purina was awesome enough to donate Knickermaker treats and different supplements which were auctioned off. It was wonderful to see our bleachers full of supporting friends and family there to see the riders. And a big thank you to all of our members and non-members for jumping in and helping. Whether you were in the entry booth, out in the ring, manning the gates, or in the kitchen, everything you do is greatly appreciated. We couldn't have done it without yinz! We wrapped our season up with our Fun Show on September 7. We had a beautiful day for such a great turn out. A great way to end the season. Though the show season is at an end, we still have a couple more events scheduled before we wrap up our year with our annual Year End Awards Banquet. We look forward to seeing everyone at our our Fall JPR at Deer Lakes Park on October 19!
Renton Volunteer Fire Department
A very, very, very BIG thank you to the Renton Volunteer Fire Department. They were kind enough to come out to our July 6 show to water down the ring. It had been a bit dusty, but they came and saved the day for us! Stonybrook can't thank these guys enough for everything they do for our borough and what they did for our club. The riders and horses appreciate it very much. And our members and guests pulled through with an amazing donation for them. Keep up the good work guys!
May 18 Judged Pleasure Ride
Thank you to everyone who came out and participated in our JPR on May 18 @ Northmoreland Park. Although it was a bit muddy, we had a beautiful day for the ride and everyone seemed to have a wonderful time. I personally had a blast helping judge and watching all the great horses and riders come through my obstacle. Thank you to everyone who came out and volunteered their time, whether on the trail or back at the pavillion with registration and food. And a big thank you to Dr. Michael Savko, Certified Animal Chiropractor, for coming out and doing a demonstration for everyone. We will be hosting another JPR on October 19 @ Deer Lakes Park. Click on the links below for results from the trail ride.
Kick Off Nights
Stonybrook has introduced Kick Off Nights for the 2014 season. Kick Off nights are generally held a couple days prior to an event at the club. The purpose is to clean up and prepare the grounds for the upcoming show. It is a great time to get to know other Stonybrook members and also earn some Stonybrook Bucks. Remember all members are required to work a minimum of 5 hours outside of shows to be eligible for year end awards and Stonybrook Bucks to use at our auction at the banquet. This is a great way to do both. Feel free to bring some food and a friend.
Calling all former members of Stonybrook! We want you back! Stonybrook is offering $5 off membership dues for any previous members from 2012 or earlier. Click here for your 2014 Membership Application. Please include a committee you would like to help out with on your application. Join us at our March meeting or e-mail us for more information! And Welcome Back!
We are asking all members to please volunteer for at least one committee to help out for 2014. You can read more about each committee in our February Newsletter. Remember, all time you spend volunteering for Stonybrook earns you "Stonybrook Bucks" you may use to bid on items at the Year End Award Banquet. Please choose a committee from the following list:
